Chapter Nine

I remember reading about the different kinds of electronic commerce mentioned back in the fourth module of the book, and many people and businesses have expanded the use of online shopping ever since the pandemic in 2020. When the book specifies that through one business-to-consumer transaction there are several business-to-business transactions before someone purchases something, I can imagine an increased rate of transactions because of the pandemic. There used to be public auctions that offered several interesting items such as trading cards and electronic devices, but now no one auctions anything good nowadays as online auctioning has become the new thing which I hate to admit. For the past few years, I have gone to many amusement venues such as the Wyoming County Fair and Knoebels Park which I grew up going to since I was a kid, but now I witnessed the places I enjoyed going to every year slowly dying. The only places that I have left that I enjoy going to is the flea market, but I would not be surprised those would be gone to rot. As much as technology using the Internet of Things concept is interesting, it is unfortunately a problem because of hackers, which is why digital wallets should be used with caution. A digital wallet is useful in case someone forgot his or her wallet at home, but people need to keep as little money in it as possible, so that no one would lose too much cash. If businesses start forcing people to shop with only a digital wallet and not accept cash, then this world is doomed if it goes that way. All the way back in the third module, it was listing multiple country codes which I did not know reflect a website differently from the rest. Even though I took the class Web Page Design, I do not recall the instructor referencing this fact which should have been mentioned for constructing a website. It would be funny to recreate the Gage and Tollner site again, but this time I will give it a Japanese feel to the website which sounds hilarious to do.
